Sexual Sins are deceiving and destroying people.
“My People are destroyed for lack of knowledge” Hosea 4:6
As a single person with a normal healthy sex drive, even as a professing believer in Christ, I thought that because I believed in Jesus Christ, that my personal sexual activities were of no concern to God. Then one day while reading the Word of God, I read a scripture that absolutely contradicted my beliefs. I immediately began looking for a scripture loophole that would give me permission to be single and sexually active, but I couldn’t find one.
Instead, I found scripture after scripture that confirmed the opposite of what I had come to believe as true and acceptable in our generation. One thing I did know and had no problem believing, and that was what God said when said:
“For I am the Lord, I do not change”. Malachi 3:6
So, I had come to grips that not only does God not change, neither does His Word. And because of that I have researched and studied the topic of sexual sins so that I can share with others who also may believe what I previously believed and who are doing what I thought was natural, normal and acceptable.
This is not written by someone in judgement of you, but rather by someone who has been there himself. The Word of God was written for His people and the exhortations and warnings are intended to help us with our walk of faith and obedience. If people, who believe they are His people are disobedient, what makes them any different from the disobedient nonbelievers of the world? Nothing! They will experience the same eternity as the disobedient.
God knew in advance that the enemy through the “deceitfulness of sin” would abuse “Gods grace” to be a covering of men and women’s continual sexual sin. This is why God used nearly every writer in the New Testament to pen a warning to all people of the consequences of living after the flesh. In the Old Testament God wrote of the dangers and disasters of people practicing sexual sins. Remember, God does not change.
The greatest warning of all found in the scriptures were spoken by Jesus was this: “Do not be deceived!”
Deception has been the greatest danger to human souls since the beginning of mankind. Deception originates from the enemy, “Satan”, then it trickles down to men and women who deceive you in various forms and then deception can infiltrate our own lives when we deceive ourselves when we believe a lie rather than the truth. The Word is very clear as it pertains to the last days, the generation that sees the coming of Jesus Christ.
It states that deceivers and deception will infiltrate the house of God.
The enemy has created the lie “it’s okay, God is love and we do it in love”. If you believe that then you have been deceived too. Everyone who is engaged in fornication, adultery or any of the many forms of sexual immorality at the time of death or Jesus’ return, will not be ready for either. But since God loves you he has brought His truths to you today. Will you hear His voice and seek His face.
As a minister/servant I must teach the biblical truth on sexuality. If I do not, I fail my calling to the Word of God.
Consider the following scriptures that declare the Word, the will and the promises of God.
Jesus Christ speaking:
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven”.
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; 6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. 7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. 8 Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who[a] has also given us His Holy Spirit.
In the Book of Acts even the Holy Spirit reaffirms to the newly born church to be obedient and abstain from “sexual immorality”
“For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual[j] immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.
Farewell.”
Could it be assumed if you don’t keep yourselves from these that you will not do well?
In the Book of Revelation, we are told that in the last days there are four prevalent sins that the world will refuse to repent of. Sexual immorality is a worldly sin that is running rampant in the church today and rarely does anyone warn of its eternal consequences.
“And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries(drugs) or their sexual immorality or their thefts.” Revelation 9:21
If we are involved with these acts, then we are not overcomers but rather hypocrites with a form of godliness.
“But know this, that in the last days [a]perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away “
2 Timothy 3:1-5
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:19-21
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:13
For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them.
Ephesians 5:5-7
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [a]homosexuals, nor [b]sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were [c]sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
1st Corinthians 6:9-11
7 He who overcomes [a]shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, [b]unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Revelation 21:7-8
Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Hebrews 13:4
James the half-brother of Jesus does not mince words in his letter to the church “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves”.
James 1:22
Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4:4
Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”1st Peter 1:13-16
Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, 1stPeter 2:11
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:15-17
Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body [a]and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Hebrews 10:26-27
But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am; 9 but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion. 1st Corinthians 7:8-9
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to [a]bear it. 1st Corinthians 10:13
And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, Hebrews 5:9
The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. Romans 13:12-14
Friends, I hope this reminder of God's Word will be the wake up call for you as it was for me. Is this an area of your life that God wants to be Lord over as well? If you have a partner who does not obey Gods Word then you must cut off that relationship or face the real consequences of cutting yourself off from God. God keeps his Word, He will never leave you or forsake you, but is the sexual pleasure of yourself or another worth risking eternity separated from God and Life. Remember His Words in Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.”
In conclusion; Jesus said these words to a person caught in the at of sexual sinand it is His Word for any of us caught up in sexual sin today: “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” John 8:11
The one scripture I would quote to my congregations more than any other is this from 1st John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

I am available for a personal one to one discussion or possibly even bringing this important message to your friends, group or church congregation. This can be a hard message for any pastor to present without someone thinking that the pastor is pointing the finger at individuals. This is where I feel called and is my passion for Christ’ church. ~It is a matter of death and life.
